Analysis of new carbonate reference materials to perform isotope calibration of the iso CARB PREP
Carbonate materials, such as shells and corals, serve as valuable proxies for paleoclimate reconstruction. The analysis of oxygen and carbon isotopic compositions within these materials provides critical insights into temperature conditions through geologic time. These data contribute significantly to the understanding of long-term climate variability and inform climate modelling efforts. Dual inlet isotope ratio mass spectrometry (DI-IRMS) provides superior precision in paleoclimate studies compared to continuous flow methods.
